Conference Presentations

Evaluating the root causes of fatigue and associated risk factors

ASAGOL.jpg

ASAGOL on behalf of Fadigometro Project

Crewmember rosters across commercial airlines in Brazil were evaluated in SAFTE-FAST to identify root causes of fatigue.

“But I didn’t feel fatigued”

JetBlue.jpg

JetBlue

This presentation shows how JetBlue uses SAFTE-FAST to quantify fatigue risk beyond subjective alertness.

Aircrew Fatigue Management

RAF.jpg

Royal Air Force

In this presentation, the RAF examines fatigue with an assessment of C-17 pilot fatigue and its relationship to flight data monitoring parameters and proposed changes to the crew duty rules.

Modeling Compound Fatigue Risk in Medium Haul Pilots

AirFrance.jpg

Air France

This presentation is an overview of a study conducted by Air France and SAFTE-FAST to model compound fatigue risk in medium-haul pilots. Workload factors identified from a survey of pilots were applied to workload settings in SAFTE-FAST. A use case was then developed to compare schedules identified as having high compound risk by Insights against fatigue reports from those rosters.

Client Performance and Fatigue Correlations

FlightSafety.jpg

FlightSafety

In this presentation, FlightSafety describes the correlation between fatigue and simulator grades.

Real Time; API Solutions

RealTimeStart.jpg

IBR

An overview of different API solutions SAFTE-FAST can implement for real-time modeling in day-of-operation environments.

FRMS during COVID and next steps

AZUL.jpg

Azul

In the early stages of the pandemic, Brazil had to source health and safety materials from China, posing logistical challenges. During this presentation, Azul describes how they overcame these challenges and how COVID changed their approach to FRMS.

Implementation of Cabin Crew Enhancements

UnitedStart.jpg

United

This presentation looks at enhancements to a recent flight attendant fatigue program. This includes the current and projected use of data to identify trends and potential risks. The data focuses on how Inflight looks to utilize SAFTE-FAST to a greater extent to proactively identify and resolve potential fatigue associated with pairing or line construction.

Workshop Presentations

Sleep science

SleepScienceStart.jpg

IBR

This presentation describes the fundamental scientific concepts that underlie how sleep affects operational performance. The biology of the sleep-wake cycle, advice on enhancing sleep quality and alertness, and the effects of sleep on other aspects of well-being are also discussed.

Reporting: Data-driven decision making

ReportingStart.jpg

IBR

Take a look at the different types of reports available in SAFTE-FAST. Get more information on exports for use in BI systems, creating custom report libraries and dashboards to help with data comparison and proactive modeling.

Markers: How to incorporate markers in SAFTE-FAST

MarkersStart.jpg

IBR

Insights: Predictive Modeling

InsightsStart.jpg

IBR

This presentation shows you how to set up custom hazard classes applicable to your type of operation. You will also learn how to interpret the information in each hazard class.

Workload: Determining the impact Workload has on fatigue

WorkloadStart.jpg

IBR

See how to create operational workload rules in SAFTE-FAST from data collected through the NASA Task Load Index (TLX) and other internal sources. Learn how to also view and interpret workload metrics during proactive modeling and predictive modeling.

Learn about the different ways that markers can be utilized in SAFTE-FAST, from converting crewing codes on data import, creating auto-markers, and using markers reactively.
